Distinctly Floral

Well hello there!

I'm so sorry for being quiet but last week I spent the week being hospitalised with a serious illness so I'm sure you can forgive me? Since being discharged on Friday I've been under strict doctor's orders to rest and not stress in the hope that I won't rebound. All seems good so far!

I haven't been able to go shopping in what feels like a long, long time but I did nab these shorts from Asda a couple of weeks back. They're from the kids section and are aged 14-15 and fit me lovely. I did originally go for the 13-14 for a laugh and although I did manage to get them on they were a bit on the tighter side. For reference I'm a size 10. It just shows that you should always take a gander in the kids section as you never know what gems you may find! These were £10 which is a pretty average price but I think for their quality they're brilliant, plus I haven't seen pretty neutral floral toned shorts for anywhere near as cheap as these so they're a winner.

They'll look great bare legged and with a pair of black tights or leggings underneath! Despite the muted tones, I also reckon they'd fit in well later on in the year as they'd look ace with burgundy reds and  varying greys.
What do you reckon? Do you like clothes shopping in Supermarkets?

Wish List : Want List

I should really treat myself today seeing as I only went and bagged myself a conditional offer for my MA at Durham University! :D so happy!! Looks like I'll be getting my uber northern accent back, much to the boyfriends dislike XD

1) Leggings are £12.99 from New Look, vair pretty!
2) Grey dress is another £12.99er from New Look. I need more basics and it's lovely.
3) Red dress is another one from New Look at £28.99 which is a bit steep for a cheapskate such as me, but it was too nice to not include.
4) Black dress with lace collar is an Asda special at only £16. Sadly they've run out of size 10s online but it has been given a solid 5 stars so it must be good!
5) This tapestry skirt is part of Primark's S/S13 stock. I believe it will be £12 :)

So, so happy that I'll be able to move my life forward :D

My Asda Bargains

Went to Asda yesterday and got myself some right little bargains!

First off these girls boots. Asda kids boots go up to a size 6 so you should never discount the kids section! £13! And they're so comfy. I know I'll get a lot of use out of them :)

Next up I got 2 of these men's white t-shirts in a size medium. 50p each! They will come in great for some crafts I have in mind :) - sorry they're crumpled to buggery!

Next up are these jars. They're very big in size and will also come in handy for some crafts. £1 each. I think they're usually between £1.75-£2.50 so a nice saving :)

I then bought this huge under the bed storage box for £5. Perfect for putting in gift wrap etc.

Finally. These were only 50p for the Maltesers and £1 for the Jelly Babies... so I got 2 of the former and 4 of the latter! I know it's naughty buying sweets but they've actually got decent sell-by-dates on them so as a bit of a cheapskate people will be receiving these as gifts ;D but seriously why spend the RRP on these things which is usually £1-2 for the Maltesers and £3+ for the Jelly Babies!?

Hope you're liking my cheap finds :)

All I want for Xmas is....

I thought I would write a post on Xmas gift ideas. Here are some of the things I have found for myself that I've taken from my Pinterest.

  1. I love the cat phone cover. It comes in a variety of different colours and is £5.99. My personal preference would be black.
  2. The salt & pepper pots are so cute and are only £4.49.
  3. The silicone cup cover is amazing. It has a suctioned bottom to prevent things falling into, or from spilling out of your mug or cup and is only £1.95!!!! A bloody bargain for one that has been made so pretty with a lace look edge and cat puller. Brilliant.
  4. I've been eyeing up these cat slippers since we got them in store. They're only £6.
  5. I love the shop Giveadogabone.co.uk, based in York, I always love to visit it. This clock is so pretty, and ticks all the Jenny boxes of being black & white and having a bird, with twigs! and is £9.99.
  6. Having moved into a new house with approximately 589589545 doors that shut on you, door stops are very much a required present for me and instead of buying a load of boring white ones for £1 I'd much prefer one that is good to look at. £11.99.
  7. Lastly, I adore this bag. I'm not sure it would work with my personal style but it's so nice and I would probably justify using it anyway. £39.99.

Sacred Illusion

Hey everyone, I need to stop leaving it so long in between posts!

Dress: Asda Sale in Summer £5 Tights: Primark

I absolutely love this dress as it fits so well. A lot of the time I find George dresses to be too long but this one looks good, not to mention it's a beautiful colour and just fits in with my style perfectly.

My health still hasn't improved and all my days seem to be merging together. I can't believe it's mid-October already. I just can't believe how much life seems to be running away from me!
But on the more positive side the boy and I are house/ flat hunting because we're fed up of our current digs. I also have a job interview on Friday for a seasonal job working for the National Trust as an assistant conservator! I'm so excited, but also nervous about whether I'll get it. Chin up and that :)
Hope everyone is well?
